Physical Description 58 cm tall. Has two color phases: a) dark phase - slaty black upperparts, underparts brownish blue, white stripe on chin, bill blackish; b) white phase - all white, bill yellow, legs greenish. Brownish when immature.

Distribution Japan to New Zealand and West Pacific islands. Found all over the Philippines
